What is Interlibrary Loan?
Interlibrary Loan, or ILL, is a service which attempts to obtain from other libraries items which are not owned by the Waynesboro-Wayne County Library.
Who can use an ILL?
Anyone who has a current Waynesboro-Wayne County Library card with no outstanding materials or fees is eligible to utilize the ILL service.
What is the cost?
Generally this is a free service. Occasionally the lending library may charge for copies made from unloanable material. In such cases, you would be advised before further action would be taken.
How long does it take to get ILL material?
The length of time involved depends on the availability of the material at the lending libraries as well as the distance the material will be traveling. A request may be filled within a week or it could take a month or longer. Please consider this time frame if you have a deadline.
How do I place an ILL request?
If you are at the Waynesboro-Wayne County Library any of our staff will be glad to assist you or you may place a request by telephone at 601-735-2268 contact us online.
Are there restrictions on certain material?
We will make an attempt to borrow any material you request but certain items are difficult to obtain.

- Audio or visual materials
- Genealogy materials
- Reference books
How will I know when my material is available?
We will notify you by telephone when your item comes in. You may pick it up at the Reference Desk. We will also notify you If we are unable to obtain an item.
How long may I keep my ILL item?
Generally, ILL items check out for three weeks. If you need it longer, please let us know several days before the due date so we can request a renewal from the loaning library.
